2020. Entering the new century

22-23rd March 2016.

Making a start.   Need to get paint on the boat.  Volunteers required.

2016.

The expansion valves are now working well.  Next stage removing the flywheel for the key ring to be added for the electric start.  Graham has had to make  a special tool to undo the large nut before attempting to remove the flywheel.

Tuesday 8th December 2015, winter work

Finishing up for the winter.  There is still work to be done on re-plating the hull and patching up all the holes where needed.  But it is time to wrap up until we have a plan for the next phase which requires  a new ownership deal as current resources are limited. 

 

Managed to get primer on all new metalwork and wrap up the wrap up the wheelhouse. 

Next stage

The painting of everything, and volunteers needed.

December Report. 'For sale, half share in Shellfen'

We have been in Will Trickett's yard at Seend, Devizes for a year now.  The hull and superstructure have now been completed with the repairs and alterations done.  The engine is out and being overhauled.

 

We have spent £15,000 so far on all the work and imagine that we are about half way there in terms of cost. The fitting out, windows and final painting is still to do.

I am looking for others who would like to share in the ownership of Shellfen, and be able to help either financially or practically in the work that still needs to be done.

 

 

  My idea  for the boat is to make it practical for long term cruising on home waters and abroad.  Shellfen being only 45ft. long makes it the same size as a large container that means it is easily transportable to any corner of the globe. So owners from abroad will be welcome.
